Senior Associate Botanist Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Associate Botanist to fill this role in our Sydney Ecology team. As a botanist with a positive attitude and strong technical ability, you will be confident in your ability to hit the ground running in a busy environment.

This is an opportunity to contribute to multidisciplinary assessments and project teams as a senior associate botanist. You will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality service and advice in your area of expertise.

The successful candidate will participate and lead field survey programs focused on flora and vegetation surveys, including targeted surveys and vegetation mapping of plant community types, in a diverse range of environments across NSW.

  • Conduct flora identification and botanical data analysis.
  • Pursue accreditation for biodiversity assessment reports (BARs).
  • Develop and implement flora surveys and monitoring programs.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification in botany, ecology, environmental management, natural resources or a related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in an ecological role in the environmental consulting sector or equivalent role.
  • Strong analytical, report writing, and computer skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
