We are seeking a qualified School Counsellor to support the emotional, social and wellbeing needs of students for the remainder of the school year.

About the Role

This is a part-time (3 or 4 days a week), temporary role working during term time only. As a School Counsellor, you will work closely with students, teaching staff, and families to ensure their overall development and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and professional advice to students in the areas of wellbeing and mental health
  • Support teachers and families by providing them with an understanding of student mental health concerns and strategies to assist these students' development
  • Absorb assessments and refer students to specialist agencies for clinical, therapeutic, medical diagnosis and treatment as needed
Requirements
  • Recognised qualifications in Counselling, Psychology or Social Work
  • Experience in working with children and/or adolescents and their families to address various mental health, developmental and learning concerns
  • Ability to implement evidence-based intervention strategies
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with stakeholders
  • Excellent organisation, time management and record-keeping skills
  • Possession of high-level interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders
  • Understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries reflecting child safeguarding values in practice
  • Commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos of the school
