We are seeking passionate and professional school-based wellbeing counsellors to join our educational team.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity will see you work collaboratively with schools, families and other professionals to develop and implement strategies that support student wellbeing and mental health.

As a Wellbeing Counsellor, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with Schools: Work with educators to promote whole-school mental health initiatives and provide individual and group counselling sessions for students.
  • Engaging with Families: Engage with parents and carers to strengthen home-school partnerships and support their child's wellbeing.
  • Liaising with External Agencies: Develop relationships with external agencies to enhance student support services.

You will be expected to demonstrate evidence-based practice in assessing and supporting students' cognitive, emotional and behavioural needs. Your experience as a registered Psychologist or Social Worker will enable you to make informed decisions when dealing with sensitive issues.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working as a registered Psychologist or Social Worker.
  • Experience in cognitive, emotional and behavioural assessment of children and young people.
  • Registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • The ability to engage students, parents and teachers in the counselling process.
  • Capacity to facilitate parent and carer education.
  • A supportive attitude towards our Catholic ethos.
