Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Infrastructure Operations Specialist to join our team at Microsoft. As a key member of our Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) group, you will play a critical role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for our online services.

Our infrastructure consists of over 200 datacenters across 32 countries, serving more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses worldwide. We are committed to environmental sustainability and optimization in our datacenter design and operations.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as an operations specialist in one or more major areas of operations, including electrical, mechanical, controls, generators, and advanced tasks independently.
  • Oversee and coach a team in inspecting critical environment-related facility equipment, building, and grounds regularly for unsafe or abnormal conditions.
  • Monitor performance of maintenance and operations using telemetry, control systems, and other platforms, and identify all alarms.
  • Utilize internal computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track equipment assets and complete work order requests for maintenance work.
  • Safely and quickly respond to and lead onsite incident response teams for abnormal conditions that impact operations.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent AND 3+ years mission critical services work/applied learning experience OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft customer and/or government security screening requirements, including specialized security screenings.
  • 1+ year(s) people management experience and 1+ year(s) experience in a specialized area (e.g., mechanical field, electrical field, controls field).
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is around $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
