Job Title:

Compliance & Legal Professional

 

The Role: Compliance and Legal Department Assistant

 

  • Support the Chief Compliance Officer in managing duties for the Compliance & Legal department.

  • Assist with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) / Counter Terrorism Financing (CTF) screening and reporting, including transaction monitoring.

  • Review and approve corporate client onboarding, and perform periodic review (Know Your Customer).

  • Maintain and administer Client Due Diligence records and metrics.

  • Manage the Compliance & Legal Register.

  • Review and update policies and procedures that support the compliance framework.

  • Deliver ongoing compliance training to all bank employees.

  • Draft and vet contracts with third party legal entities and counterparties.

  • Provide updates about regulatory changes to Senior Management.

  • Translate compliance documents and reports for Head Office.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • Finance, Business, or Law tertiary degree.

  • Basic knowledge of Prudential Standards, ASIC Guidelines, and AML CTF requirements.

  • Good understanding of Australian financial markets and basic licensing obligations is desirable.

  • Highly motivated, capable of multi-tasking, and willing to learn and develop within the role.

  • Good time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in order of urgency.

  • Knowledge of Chinese regulations and financial services laws is highly desirable.

  • Ability to speak, type, and read Chinese.
