About the Role

  1. Effective Utilisation of Personnel and Equipment

EFFECTIVE UTILISATION OF PERSONNEL AND EQUIPMENT TO MEET PRODUCTION PLANS AND TARGETS.

Communication and Coordination

COMMUNICATE DRILL AND BLAST REQUIREMENTS AT PRE-START MEETINGS.

COORDINATE WORK-CREW RESPONSIBILITIES ENSURING EMPLOYEES ARE AWARE OF CHANGES AND ARE COMPETENT TO CARRY OUT TASKS.

Safety and Compliance

ENSURE ALL EMPLOYEES UNDERSTAND AND COMPLY WITH HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING PROCEDURES.

Technical Expertise

PROVIDE TECHNICAL ADVICE/ EXPERTISE ON DRILL AND BLAST OPERATIONS AND DELIVER TRAINING AND GUIDANCE TO PERSONNEL AS REQUIRED.

Blast Notifications and Clearances

CARRY OUT BLAST NOTIFICATIONS AND CLEARANCES.

Performance Monitoring

MONITOR SHIFT PERFORMANCE TO ENSURE DRILL AND BLAST TARGETS ARE MET AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION TO MAINTAIN TARGETS.

Reporting and Record Keeping

REPORT ANY SIGNIFICANT DEVATION FROM THE DRILLING AND BLASTING PLANS TO THE PROJECT MANAGER IN WRITING ON THE SHIFT REPORT.

Transportation and Storage

ENSURE THE TRANSPORT OF BLASTING MATERIALS IS IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATUTORY REGULATIONS IN A PURPOSE DESIGNED VEHICLE.

Incident Investigations

CARRY OUT ACCIDENT/INCIDENT INVESTIGATIONS AS REQUIRED.

Maintenance Planning

LIAISE WITH THE WORKSHOP MANAGER TO PLAN SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES.

Audit and Inspection

UNDERTAKE SCHEDULED AUDITS AND INSPECTIONS OF MAGAZINE AND FACILITY.

About You

  1. Qualifications and Experience

UNRESTRICTED SHOTFIREF TICKET.

A DEMONSTRATED TRACK RECORD OF FOSTERING SAFETY IN THE WORKPLACE.

PROVEN EXPERIENCE AS A DRILL & BLAST SUPERVISOR, LEADING AND MENTORING TEAMS EFFECTIVELY TO DRIVE PERFORMANCE OUTCOMES.

Industry Background

EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE IN OPEN PIT MINING WITHIN A NICKEL, COPPER, GOLD, LITHIUM OR IRON ORE BACKGROUND HIGHLY REGARDED.
