Business Information Security Officer

This role is part of a global organisation responsible for information security. The team works closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and develop strategies to mitigate risks. As a Business Information Security Officer, you will act as the primary interface between the business and the global security organisation.

The job involves managing relationships with the business to deliver on the global cybersecurity strategy and helping identify and manage cybersecurity risk. You will work closely with local stakeholder groups within your organisation to drive our global cybersecurity strategy.

  • Assist internal business teams with navigating various security assessment processes and the wider organisation, providing security guidance and support
  • Assist with identification and management of information security risk areas (eg: vulnerabilities, control deficiencies, etc)
  • Manage and deliver planned projects and risk reduction initiatives from gathering business requirements to working with technical teams, testing and rolling out changes
  • Contribute to Global workstreams to uplift the security posture for the organisation by working with other teams
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar cybersecurity role working with the business (1 to 3 years)
  • The ability to easily communicate and explain cybersecurity principles to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to translate data into relatable, digestible formats for business teams and senior stakeholders (eg presentations, dashboards, reports)
  • Problem solving mindset with a customer service orientation—working with business teams to achieve positive outcomes
  • Ability to manage workload, prioritise, and recognise when to escalate to management
  • Interest in the organisation's business model, services, and operating environment as it pertains to the firm's threat landscape
  • Project management skills
  • Experience working in a globally distributed team is advantageous
