About the Opportunity

This senior Business Governance & Controls role involves instilling an innovative approach to risk, quality, assurance and incident management. The main purpose of this position is to ensure alignment with enterprise-wide Non-Financial Risk requirements and framework.

Key responsibilities include maintaining an appropriate operating risk management strategy, working with management to pursue cost effective strategies to manage risks, delivering year on year improvements in operations by identifying improvements in practices and procedures, and managing stakeholder engagement across the business.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Maintain an appropriate operating risk management strategy and framework to ensure that operating risks are effectively identified, assessed, treated and monitored in line with the business risk appetite.
  2. Work with management to pursue cost effective, innovative and competitive strategies to manage risks which contribute to improving business performance.
  3. Deliver year on year improvements in the production, efficiency, quality and cost of operations by identifying improvements in practices and procedures.
  4. Manage stakeholder engagement across the business to gain buy-in and support.
  5. Act as the key conduit between the wider Risk Management Team and the business as first line of defence.
Requirements
  • Sound knowledge of key regulatory obligations, risks and controls within Financial Services.
  • Excellent project/time management and planning discipline.
  • Ability to lead by example, complying with ANZ Operational Risk & Compliance policies and practices.
