About the Role

DroneShield is expanding its Design Team and seeking an Industrial Designer with a strong foundation in product development. This is a unique opportunity to design sophisticated leading-edge equipment and technology within the defence space.

Responsibilities
  • Conceptualize, develop, and refine new products, aligning with the company's established design language
  • Manage products throughout the entire development cycle
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate complex engineering concepts into design concepts
  • Develop and refine concepts for new products with input from various teams
  • Liaise with stakeholders to manage project outcomes
  • Work with manufacturers and suppliers
Requirements
  • A degree in a relevant product/industrial design discipline or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience
  • A portfolio showcasing design process and presentation skills
  • Diverse experience in design for manufacturing
  • Expertise with product visualisation and rendering
  • Proficiency in software tools - Solidworks, Adobe CC
  • Experience in complex surface modelling
  • Good ideation and sketching skills
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, deliver, and meet deadlines
  • Previous experience working in Defence, medical, aerospace, or consumer electronics is favourable
  • Australian citizenship is preferred for Baseline and potential NV1 clearance
