About the Role

DroneShield Group Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Signal Processing Engineer to join their development team in Sydney. This is an exceptional opportunity for a result-driven individual to contribute to the development of cutting-edge RF AI projects.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop state-of-the-art software methods to analyse and characterise signals in the RF spectrum
  • Develop algorithms to be deployed onto embedded platforms that utilise Software Defined Radios (SDR), Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) technology, Digital Signal Processing (DSP) modules and Graphic Processing Units (GPU)
  • Develop simulation environments to assist with algorithmic model training and validation
  • Analyse complex time series, spectral and spatial datasets
  • Provide technical guidance in the field of algorithm design and mathematical modelling
  • Work closely with other software engineers to integrate and optimise algorithmic models to run efficiently into production software architectures
  • Document and maintain the code base supporting developed software and algorithms
Requirements
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years+ of algorithm development experience
  • Electronic Warfare (EW) experience is highly valued
  • Ability to research, design and integrate complex algorithms and mathematical models into high-performance software, operating on sensor data
  • Experience with signal processing techniques, time-series analysis, sensor fusion and simulation
  • Experience with RF spectrum analysis is highly favourable
  • Ability to translate business logic and objectives into briefs, executing on those ideas by generating well-functioning analytical models
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, communicating effectively with engineers from non-software / data science backgrounds
