Senior Construction Project Manager

About John Holland, a leading construction company:
We're seeking a seasoned professional for our Sydney Children's Hospital project in Randwick. This role requires coordinating on-site teams to meet project plans and specifications, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate multiple teams and subcontractors to achieve outcomes.
- Provide leadership in health, safety, and environment management.
- Develop work methods and short-term construction programs, planning daily/weekly production work.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through effective communication.
- Complete progress reports, including shift handovers and regular reporting to the Superintendent or Project Manager.
- Ensure compliance with commercial and financial costs, including budgets and cost implications within authority limits.
- Review design documentation, provide constructive input, and implement final designs.
- Maintain contractual mechanisms with subcontractors.
- Identify and mitigate risks before works commence, engage relevant stakeholders to control risk, and contribute to building a risk management culture.
- Select, train, and develop leading hands, ensuring adherence to safety standards and fair application of industrial agreements.
- Consult with workers' representatives and committees on industrial and safety matters, addressing issues as they arise and referring major concerns to the Project Manager.
- Perform duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems, and procedures.
To succeed in this critical role, you'll need:
Qualifications:
- Trade qualification or equivalent.
- Typical Year 12 or equivalent education level.
Experience:
- A minimum of 12 years of previous construction experience.
- 5 years of experience as a Foreman or current General Foreman.
- Significant industry experience in Trade and Construction.
- Technical competence and understanding in supervising areas.
- Skill in reviewing design documents, ability to understand drawings, and providing constructability reviews.
- Management of construction teams.
- Previous experience working on Tier 1 healthcare projects.
- People and performance management of subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labor.
Salary and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits, including:
