Operations Management Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager to join our team in Mackay. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the efficient use of drivers and equipment, organizing vehicles to cover all orders and requests, and ensuring compliance with customer and freight requirements.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Compile loads to ensure optimal utilization of drivers and equipment
  • Organise vehicle schedules to meet customer demands
  • Verify that all vehicles comply with customer and regulatory requirements
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder interactions and advice
  • Prepare loading/unloading documentation, including manifests and compliance records
  • Review and analyze external contractor run sheets and delivery reports for performance monitoring
  • Respond to and manage incidents related to driver operations
  • Supervise drivers to monitor and enforce adherence to State and Federal Laws
  • Maintain company equipment through repairs and maintenance planning
  • Participate in operational meetings and contribute to OHS initiatives
  • Provide prompt and effective responses to customer inquiries and concerns
  • Deliver timely and accurate reports as required
  • Foster professional communication with key stakeholders through both written and oral means
Requirements:
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Credible leadership and staff guidance capabilities
  • Ability to identify and rectify operational inefficiencies and service issues
  • In-depth knowledge of multi-purpose fleets, including prime movers, body trucks, and specialized equipment
  • Geographical knowledge application to optimize driver allocation and direction
  • A transport background is desirable but not essential, with a solid understanding of relevant policies and legislation
