Job Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Database Specialist to join our team in Technology Infrastructure.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying, maintaining and supporting AWS Aurora/RDS instances, running PostgreSQL and other database engines. Key responsibilities include recommending best practices and approaches for administration of AWS RDS/Aurora, monitoring and optimising the performance of database instances, resolving database incidents and requests, and creating and maintaining documentation.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in database administration in a corporate environment
  • Strong technical skills and experience supporting PostgreSQL in AWS Aurora/RDS
  • Prior experience with migration from on-premises databases to AWS Aurora/RDS
  • Demonstrated ability to support enterprise-scale infrastructure
  • Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions

Nice to Have:

  • Background in the financial services industry or knowledge of the sector
  • Practical experience supporting SQL Server, Oracle Database or MySQL, either on-premises or in AWS
  • Knowledge of additional AWS services such as DMS, Athena, CloudWatch and Lambda functions
