Job Overview:

The role of a Ship Master/Draft Surveyor/Ship Officer/Load Master is pivotal in maintaining high standards of reporting and monitoring regarding the condition of ships and cargo.

  • Maintaining accurate records and conducting inspections of marine vessels
  • Providing expert advice on ship stability, stress, trimming, and other related matters
  • Coordinating berthing operations and delivering load/discharge inspections
  • Ensuring all measuring equipment is accurately maintained and calibrated
  • Reviewing and compiling ship arrival times and liaising with service providers
  • Preparing reports and invoices, as well as performing liaison duties with clients, shipping agents, and vessel staff

This position requires a strong understanding of Australian maritime safety regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Qualifications:

A current Australian driving license is mandatory for this position. The successful candidate must also be able to physically sample, measure, and take temperatures in stowage tanks. Relevant experience including 2 years in a similar position is highly desirable.
