Senior Land Management Officer

This challenging role involves leading land management programs, coordinating multiple projects and engaging with various stakeholders.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective conservation strategies in collaboration with colleagues.
  • Manage budgets, compliance requirements and infrastructure repair and maintenance.
  • Engage with scientists, students, volunteers, visitors, neighbouring landholders and government agencies.

Critical Competencies:

  • Practical skills in fire management, weed and feral animal control, asset management and operation of plant and equipment.
  • Problem-solving and resourcefulness to develop practical solutions with limited resources.
  • Teamwork and independence to work effectively in small teams or independently.
  • Adaptability to remote living with resilience and experience working in rural environments.
  • Conservation focus with understanding of Australian ecology and conservation issues.

Qualifications:

  • Formal qualifications are not essential, but strong practical experience and a good track record of delivering results are crucial.
  • A valid manual driver's licence with 4WD experience is essential. 4WD training can be provided prior to commencement.
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
  • Medium Rigid drivers licence (desirable).
  • First aid certificate and remote first aid (desirable).
  • Firearm licence (desirable).
