
Senior Business Development Professional

We are seeking a seasoned Business Development professional to join our team in Melbourne. This role is pivotal in driving growth and fostering strong relationships with clients.
As a key member of our business development team, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining a robust pipeline, and ensuring exceptional client engagement. You will work closely with our directors, marketing team, and other stakeholders to deliver on our strategic business objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Researching and identifying new business opportunities across multiple sectors
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers in target organisations
- Attending industry events and conferences to expand networks and uncover new leads
- Supporting directors with bids, proposals, and client meetings
- Collaborating with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns and collateral
- Managing business development reporting, client feedback, and post-engagement reviews

Required Skills & Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or client relationship management
- Strong ability to analyse industry trends, competitor activity, and client needs to identify opportunities
- Experience in prospecting, lead generation, cold calling, and networking
- Track record engaging with senior decision-makers and cross-functional teams
- Experience working across multiple sectors (building & construction, energy, transport, health, education, digital)
- Proficiency in CRM systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 (or similar)
- Exceptional communication skills - both verbal and written
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
