Aviation Technical Lead for Communication Systems

We are seeking a highly skilled Aviation Technical Lead to oversee the maintenance of Communication and Navigation Systems (CNS) at Richmond. This role is responsible for leading a team of military and civilian technicians, setting priorities, monitoring workflow, and exercising associated people and financial responsibilities.
As an Aviation Technical Lead, you will be accountable for:
- Investigating information from diverse sources, exploring innovative approaches, and implementing solutions to support business objectives.
- Managing the operations and performance of Defence employees in accordance with legislation, APS policies, and procedures.
- Providing detailed technical advice on complex communications activities, identifying stakeholder expectations, and developing clear methodologies.
This role offers a competitive salary package, including a base salary of $91,702 - $104,753 per annum, plus IFA and up to 15.4% Superannuation. The position is eligible for an Individual Flexibility Arrangement, which allows Defence to provide additional remuneration and/or variation of other conditions.
About Our Team
The Maintenance team works closely with the Flight Commander to ensure effective maintenance of CNS systems. The team supports Air Traffic Services (ATS) to aircraft utilising Richmond restricted areas, including local civilian traffic, Australian Defence Force military aircraft, and international military aircraft.

We are looking for a personable leader who can act independently as the Technical Team Leader. This position would suit either a military specialist transitioning to a Defence civilian role or a civilian specialist eager to work in a military environment.
