Where the team fits in

PropTrack is REA’s property data solutions business. It provides property data and technical platform solutions to customers in the financial and government sectors. This role sits within our Mortgage Solutions team

What The Role Is All About

While the focus of this role is on architecture and leadership, you will remain hands on and work with teams to develop software solutions using agile software development practices as required. You will champion our technical practices to ensure a high-quality outcome for our business. You will share responsibility for the provisioning, deployment, and operational support of the software your team builds.

You'll support the team in the following ways:
- Contributing to the overall technical direction in collaboration with other senior technical leaders.- Providing technical direction to your team(s).- Working with stakeholders to design high quality solutions that meet the needs of our users.- Leading engineering teams in the implementation of major products.- Maintaining existing products, including bug fixes and “Business As Usual” feature enhancements- Supporting production systems.- Contributing to the REA knowledge base through blog posts, brown-bag sessions and coaching less experienced members of the team.- Work closely with the PropTrack Architect and Technical Leads to ensure the PropTrack platforms have a clear and consistent architecture and software design across the web and API experiences we support across PropTrack.- You will be the people manager for 1-3 other technical team members. You will be responsible for guiding and developing their career pathways, giving them timely feedback, and assessing their performance

Who We’re Looking For- 8+ years’ experience working in large-scale software development.- 2+ years’ experience leading engineering teams.- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or similar highly desirable.- Experience working with a product-based agile operating model.- Experience in banking and financial services advantageous.- Work productively and effectively in a fast paced and agile environment.- Well-rounded experience in web and API development, solution design and architectures, synchronous and asynchronous integration architectures, etc.- Solid understanding of modern cloud engineering practices.
