Highway Surface Refinement Specialist

This role involves operating highly specialized equipment including the PC6000EC Highway Grinder, and requires a strong commitment to safety, precision, and performance.
The Grinding - Grooving Equipment Operator is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of the PC6000EC Highway Grinder and related grooving equipment used in pavement preservation and surface texturing.
- Operate the PC6000EC Highway Grinder and other diamond bladed grinding/grooving machinery.
- Perform pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance on grinding and support equipment.
- Drive and manoeuvre articulated support trucks (HC license required), including water tankers.
- Accurately complete production logs, timekeeping records, and job site documentation.
- Interpret plans and specifications to execute grooving and grinding to required tolerances.
- Collaborate with the crew to ensure efficient workflow and safe job site practices.
- Travel frequently for multi-day or extended projects, including night and weekend shifts as needed.
- Maintain strict adherence to all occupational health and safety protocols.
Required Skills:
- At least 3 years' experience operating highway grinders, preferably with the PC6000EC or equivalent.
