Our client is a pioneering Australian company dedicated to sustainable waste management and recycling. Their mission is to transform end-of-life tyres into valuable materials while promoting environmental responsibility and circular economy principles.
The company seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to oversee operations at their advanced recycling facility. This key role involves optimising production, managing technical projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving innovative solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing engineering strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability in tyre recycling and material processing.
- Reviewing technical drawings, equipment plans, and recycling process designs, advising on engineering methods to ensure production targets and regulatory standards are met.
- Setting and managing project timelines and budgets for facility upgrades, equipment installation, and process improvement initiatives.
- Ensuring all operations comply with engineering specifications, environmental regulations, and workplace health and safety standards.
- Upholding high engineering standards related to quality, cost control, safety, performance, and on-time delivery across all recycling processes.
- Overseeing equipment maintenance schedules to maximise uptime and improve plant efficiency.
- Collaborating with business development, research, and operational teams on engineering considerations for new recycling technologies, product development, and facility expansion.
- Supporting and contributing to research and development projects.
- Assessing and implementing new equipment or process enhancements that align with circular economy principles and help minimise environmental footprint.
- Leading investigations into technical faults or inefficiencies, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to maintain production flow and regulatory compliance.
- Managing communication and collaboration with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth project delivery and seamless plant operations.
- Promoting a proactive culture of innovation and ongoing improvement within the engineering and maintenance teams, driving operational excellence and sustainability.
Requirements:
- Minimum three years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree or higher qualification.
