About the role

We are seeking a Finance and Governance Specialist to support our Commonwealth Government client in the administration of petroleum and greenhouse gas titles. The successful candidate will assist in preparing financial assessments, corporate governance, and risk management framework analysis, as well as develop written advice to assist with compliance assessments.

The position is a 12-month labour hire contract with possible long-term extension. Although ideally based in Melbourne or Perth, a remote working arrangement will be considered for the right candidate.

Please note: Only Australian citizens with the ability to obtain/maintain a Baseline security clearance can be considered for this role.

Duties:

  • Analyse and provide advice on financial information, corporate governance, and risk management information for companies participating in the relevant industry.
  • Draft well-written, concise, and relevant advice to decision-makers.
  • Use in-house financial models to assess financial resources.
  • Monitor and analyse financial reports, capital cost estimates, and data from existing and new infrastructure projects.
  • Review governance reports lodged with relevant bodies and prepare advice for senior management.

Requisite skills and experience:

  • Relevant technical or accounting/finance degree required.
  • Demonstrated high-level knowledge and experience in corporate governance and risk management framework analysis, report preparation, data analysis, and financial model building.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical research abilities and presentation skills.
