About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Transport Operations Manager to lead our NSW metro operations. As an expert in Fleet & People Management, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with internal and external customers. You will oversee the scheduling of vehicles to meet customer delivery requirements, while maximising the efficiency of the dedicated fleet. Additionally, you will proactively review NSW operations and identify opportunities to improve current processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the relationship across our driver fleet both permanent and subcontractors
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Provide and improve upon a safe working environment for all employees, with a strong adherence to Chain of Responsibility
  • Oversee the scheduling of vehicles to meet customer delivery requirements, whilst maximising the efficiency of the dedicated fleet
  • Proactively review NSW operations and identify opportunities to improve current processes and procedures
  • Monitor and facilitate repairs and maintenance of vehicles and equipment
  • Drive safety meetings, support audits and improve safety and compliance
  • Manage and control operational expenditure including budgets, reducing contract and labour costs, and efficiently allocating resources
  • Working with the State Manager through P&L forecast and reviews

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced Transport Operations Manager with a strong background in Fleet & People Management. You will have 10+ years of experience in Transport/Logistics Management, exceptional knowledge and understanding of HSE and COR requirements, and SAP, WMS & TMS knowledge. You will be passionate about bringing out the best in team members and providing pathways for growth, with a high level of organisational and time management skills. You will also have a continuous improvement mindset to proactively problem solve with a solution focused approach.
