Family Health Care Specialist

The Family Health Care Specialist will be responsible for delivering high-quality, family-centred care that supports the health, development and wellbeing of children aged 0–6.


About This Opportunity

As a specialist in maternal and child health, you will have the opportunity to build trusted relationships with families, providing guidance and support through key developmental stages and life challenges.

You will identify and respond to complex needs including mental health, family violence, and child safety concerns with sensitivity and professionalism.

Collaboration with internal teams and external agencies is essential to ensure wraparound support and optimal outcomes for families.


What You Will Bring
  • Registration as a General Nurse and Midwife.
  • Qualification as a Maternal and Child Health Specialist.
  • Desirable minimum 2 years' experience in the MCH sector, with demonstrated ability to support vulnerable and diverse families within an outreach setting.
  • Strong clinical knowledge of child development, behaviour and family dynamics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to inclusive and culturally safe practice.
  • Commitment to working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to assess risk and respond appropriately, including mandatory reporting.
