We are excited to welcome a Senior Psychologist to our Pain Management Service at the Sunshine Coast Health Centre.

The Pain Management Service operates under the Calderdale Framework model of care. All staff within the service are expected to engage with this framework and undertake skill sharing, appropriate delegation, and competency-based training as required.

Pain management clinicians work as a team to meet clinical demand according to the Clinical Prioritisation Document. Staff will work across other clinical services and facilities as needed to assist in meeting patient care needs, managing leave cover, and succession planning of staff.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Applying well-developed trauma-informed, specialist clinical knowledge and expertise to manage a complex persistent pain patient caseload and contribute to the knowledge of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Delivering independent high-level clinical psychology assessments and individual counselling to a diverse range of people with persistent pain.
  • Providing high-level clinical advice, education, and influence towards a common patient-centred vision and direction to professional operational teams and relevant stakeholders regarding service delivery.
