Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cafe Attendant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the food and beverage service, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

About the Role

The role of the Cafe Attendant is multifaceted, requiring a combination of technical skills, communication abilities, and attention to detail. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving food and beverages, handling cash transactions, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Making drinks, including barista-style coffees, smoothies, and milkshakes
  • Displaying cakes and pastries with attractive signage
  • Greeting customers warmly and ensuring their needs are met
  • Filling water jugs in readiness for guests
  • Taking orders accurately and efficiently
  • Preparing and reheating food as required
  • Presenting food attractively on plates
  • Providing table service with a smile
  • Cleaning and polishing crockery and cutlery
  • Filling salt and pepper shakers and sugar bowls
  • Operating a till and handling cash transactions
  • Maintaining a spotless dining area, including tables, floors, and workspaces
  • Cleaning and maintaining coffee machines
  • Informing the Village Manager of stock requirements
  • Replenishing stock and supplies as needed
  • Completing fridge and freezer documents to ensure safe food practices
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will require:

  • Barista experience and certification
  • Previous customer service experience
  • A Food Handling Certificate (desirable)
  • Food preparation skills
  • Previous cafe or hospitality experience (desirable)
