Research and Development Manager Role:

We are seeking an ambitious and proactive research and development manager to join our team at Cocoon Group Services. You will be responsible for planning, organising, directing, controlling, and coordinating research and development activities within our organisation. If you are passionate about contributing to research & development and have the required experience, we would be delighted to welcome you to our team. The ideal candidate must have a postgraduate qualification in a relevant field and at least two (2) years of relevant experience, preferably in the disability sector or similar field. Australian Citizens / Permanent Residents are preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning, monitoring, organising, conducting, and coordinating research and development activities within the organisation.
  • Determining, implementing, and monitoring research and development strategies, policies, plans, and procedures.
  • Supporting policies and commercial development through leading research projects and coordinating research activities. Assessing the benefits and monitoring the cost-effectiveness of research and development activities.
  • Collaborating with service managers, community engagement managers, support workers, and participants to collect and analyse research data in accordance with NDIS policies and procedures.
  • Interpreting research project results and providing recommendations based on those outcomes.
  • Providing advice on research and development options available within the organisation, considering policies and procedures.
  • Coordinating with allied health workers and behaviour practitioners during data collection activities.
  • Evaluating incident reports and assessing risks associated with participants.
  • Contributing to the improvement of service delivery across all Australian regions served under the Cocoon platform.
  • Developing plans and methodologies, including questionnaires, to gain insights into participant experiences of service delivery.
  • Supporting decision-making by participants through access, planning, and equity of support provision, focusing on participant outcomes.
  • Improving services such as psychotherapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy through monitoring and evaluation of data within the organisation.
  • Monitoring leading-edge developments in relevant disciplines and assessing implications for the organisation.

Essential Skills:

  • Ability to critically analyse and synthesise complex information from diverse sources, including participant history and clinical diagnosis.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, especially complex cases, is mandatory.
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate research data, contributing to the improvement of service delivery across Australia.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years' of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of the Disability Act (2016) (or demonstrated commitment to acquire such knowledge quickly)
  • Demonstrated commitment to research activities
  • A bachelor's degree or higher qualification in a relevant field
