We are seeking an accomplished leader to fill the position of Commercial Underwriting Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of underwriters and driving business growth through effective management of workflow processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Manage local underwriting team and contribute to the design of new systems, processes and procedures with a view of implementing market-leading underwriting and service standards.">
  • Lead the relationship with the relevant assigned broker group and be a key point of contact with assigned panel of brokers, market-facing where appropriate.">
  • Play a leadership role in the SME Underwriting Operations team collaborating with other Underwriting Operations Managers to ensure achievement of key growth and profitability targets.">
  • Manage workflow processes across the Underwriting team to ensure market-leading customer service, improve and maintain positive net promoter score results.">
  • Foster an inclusive and collaborative environment with all Commercial initiatives and programs to build on Allianz People Attributes and to ensure diverse thinking and best outcomes.">

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • ">
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline with project management and/or continuous improvement certification.">
  • Extensive experience in an operational management/leadership role in a complex, matrixed general insurance organisation.">
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends and links that inform judgements and solutions.">
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with clarity, impact and influence.">
