Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve underwriting results and growth through new business and renewals in accordance with plan and budget.
  • Evaluate insurance risks, determine acceptability, conditions, and pricing within designated authority level.
  • Maintain knowledge of current legislation, underwriting acceptance levels, systems, and guidelines.
  • Identify new business opportunities within underwriting appetite.
  • Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines at all times.
  • Assist Senior Underwriter with renewal process, endorsements, and quotations within authority.
  • Actively manage scheme renewal process, preparing timely submissions to Capital Providers/Insurers.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Built relationships with brokers, Marsh business, and Capital Providers/Insurers.
  • Deliver first-rate service to brokers while managing insurer interaction professionally.
  • Ensure timely and accurate responses to brokers and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • ANZIIF Associate Insurance qualifications.
  • Demonstrated experience in underwriting multi or single line commercial business and domestic products.
  • Broad insurance industry knowledge.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
  • Previous experience with Sunrise / Underwriting System advantageous.
  • Ability to deliver results on time and in full.
  • Excellent communicator with high integrity and energy.
