Commercial Underwriter Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Commercial Underwriter to join our team in Sydney. As a Commercial Underwriter, you will be responsible for managing electronic referrals, new business requests, and processing endorsements and amendments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage electronic referrals received via Sunrise.
  • Collaborate with the management team and broader business to ensure tasks are managed according to agreed service standards.
  • Monitor performance to ensure key financial indicators are achieved, namely Gross Written Premium, Leakage, and Profit measures.
  • Maximise retention of preferred accounts and review renewal and new business in conjunction with internal and external stakeholder requirements.
  • Engage face-to-face with local Brokers alongside distribution and underwriting staff to build relationships and partnerships.

Requirements:

  • A passion for providing high-quality and responsive service to internal and external customers.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in an autonomous environment.
  • Ability to positively influence the team.
  • Experience in an operational, commercial underwriting role with exposure to at least two annual underwriting cycles.
