
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Allied Healthcare Support Position

Job Overview:
The role of the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Allied Health Cadet is to provide support to the relevant Allied Health discipline team in the provision of quality patient care.
- Work under the direction and supervision of an Allied Health Professional at all times, within your level of education and under clearly defined role parameters.
- Fixed Term with a required minimum of the equivalent of eight weeks Full Time (40 shifts over 12 months)
- Cadetship may be undertaken at either campus Mercy Hospital for Women or Werribee Mercy Hospital
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide patient-centered, family-oriented, evidence-based care within an inter-professional team environment to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients.
- Provide care and support as delegated relating to patients' activities of daily living, ensuring that patients' personal needs and comforts are maintained.
- Assist in providing a safe patient environment and additional supervision ensuring patient safety.
- Provide general support for the healthcare team, ensuring effective and efficient care delivery.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled full-time in Bachelor degree or Masters-level entry degree in an Allied Health discipline.
- Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
