Support Recovery from Problem Gambling

  • Deliver therapeutic interventions to individuals, couples, families, and groups affected by gambling harm.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans based on clients' needs and goals.
  • Facilitate group support sessions to address gambling harm in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide counselling services via face-to-face, telephone, and online modalities.
  • Respond to referrals promptly and make appropriate internal and external referrals to support clients holistically.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential client records and data in line with funding requirements.

About the Role:

This role is part of a program providing free, confidential, and non-judgmental counselling and support for individuals, families, and community members concerned about their own or someone else's gambling. The successful candidate will deliver specialist therapeutic interventions, develop individualised treatment plans, and facilitate group support sessions.

Requirements:

  • A degree in psychology or counselling is preferred. Current membership with a recognised professional association is essential.
  • Proven experience in therapeutic counselling, including assessment, case planning, and the delivery of individual, couple, family, and group sessions across face-to-face, phone, and online settings.
  • A strong understanding of gambling-related harm and the challenges experienced by affected individuals and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement tailored treatment plans supporting client recovery and wellbeing.
