About the Role

The School Chaplain is a senior position that plays a vital role in the development and application of current and future strategies and objectives. This includes providing leadership and guidance on matters related to the expression of the Christian faith within the school and pastoral care of all members of the school community.

  • Provide spiritual, social, and emotional comfort and religious education to students and staff
  • Support members of the school community in achieving the school's purpose, values, and strategic goals
  • Work collaboratively with the student wellbeing staff to develop and provide quality pastoral care programs

This is an ongoing, full-time position offering 7 weeks holidays and 6 weeks paid annual leave.

Key Responsibilities

The School Chaplain will have significant responsibility for:

  • Overseeing the three critical functions of the School Chaplain: religious worship, student and staff pastoral care, and spiritual guidance
  • Creating a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for students and staff
  • Promoting the school's philosophy, policies, and procedures

To be successful in this role, applicants must possess:

  • Qualifications in Theology, Education, and Counselling or Social Work or Psychology
  • Experience in the pastoral and/or counselling areas
  • Status as a Priest of the Anglican Communion licensed in the Diocese of Melbourne
