We are seeking a Spiritual Care Professional to join our team. This is a dynamic role that involves providing high-quality spiritual care to residents and their families, leading teams creatively, recruiting and training volunteers, and coordinating initiatives that integrate spiritual care across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide spiritual support and care to residents and their families
  • Lead teams in creative and innovative ways
  • Recruit, train, and supervise spiritual care volunteers
  • Coordinate initiatives to integrate spiritual care across the organisation
Requirements:
  • Active personal faith and involvement in a faith community or support network
  • Mature spiritual and pastoral formation, with capacity to reflect theologically on experience
  • Highly developed listening and interpersonal skills, with an understanding of person-centred care
  • Understanding and ability to work sensitively with individuals and faith/community groups from diverse religious, spiritual, and cultural traditions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the capacity to explain the practice and possibilities of spiritual care to people from varied backgrounds
  • Experience working in dementia and palliative care contexts with older people
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in providing pastoral/spiritual care to people outside a faith community
  • Experience in recruitment, training, ongoing management, and supervision of volunteers
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work independently, as well as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Experience and skills in administrative duties, including data collection and reporting on outcomes
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and related software
  • Alignment and commitment to our Mission, Vision, and Values
  • 400 hours of reflective practice training, e.g. CPE/STFE/CCTC Intern Program, or commitment to complete at own cost within first 12 months
  • Qualifications in theology or spiritual care, e.g. Bachelor or Diploma of Theology/Ministry/Chaplaincy

As a Spiritual Care Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement tailored care plans that address the diverse spiritual needs of our residents.

Fostering Community: In this role, you will also be responsible for fostering a sense of community among residents and staff alike. This may involve coordinating interfaith worship services, supporting resident-led spirituality initiatives, or simply being a supportive presence for those who need it.
