Mental Health State Manager

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health State Manager to lead our Mental Health team in providing high-quality services to regional, rural, and remote communities in Queensland.

About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position that can be based at our RFDS Cairns Base or RFDS Corporate Office in Brisbane. As the Mental Health State Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality mental health services across Queensland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operationalising Mental Health aspects of the RFDS Primary Health Care Strategy
  • Providing leadership, support, and guidance to mental health managers
  • Ensuring all funded services are delivered through supporting mental health managers with workforce planning, management, and recruitment of staff
  • Working closely with mental health managers to develop operational plans, policies, and procedures
  • Managing state-wide mental health resources within the approved budget
  • Ensuring mental health managers operate within their approved budget
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Extensive clinical competency in delivering mental health services
  • Qualifications in Mental Health Nursing, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or Social Work
  • Registration with AHPRA or the AASW with Mental Health accreditation (where applicable)
  • Well-developed management skills
  • Ability to meet credentialing requirements within the area of clinical practice
  • Demonstrated ability to drive growth and lead change
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary practice within mental health
  • Demonstrated skills in analytical and innovative problem-solving
  • Knowledge of enterprise agreements and legislation applicable to mental health
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic planning
