Senior Mental Health Professional Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Professional to lead our Mental Health team in Queensland. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality mental health services across the state.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operationalize mental health aspects of our Primary Health Care Strategy
  • Provide leadership, support, and guidance to mental health managers
  • Ensure all funded services are delivered through supporting mental health managers with workforce planning, management, and recruitment of staff
  • Work closely with mental health managers to develop operational plans, policies, and procedures
  • Manage state-wide mental health resources within the approved budget
  • Ensure mental health managers operate within their approved budget
About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position that can be based at our RFDS Cairns Base or RFDS Corporate Office in Brisbane. As a Senior Mental Health Professional, you will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated team that provides mental health and wellbeing services to people in regional, rural, and remote areas of Queensland.

Requirements
  • Extensive clinical competency in delivering mental health services
  • Qualifications in Mental Health Nursing, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or Social Work
  • Registration with AHPRA or the AASW with Mental Health accreditation (where applicable)
  • Well-developed management skills
  • Ability to meet credentialing requirements within the area of clinical practice
  • Demonstrated ability to drive growth and lead change
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary practice within mental health
  • Demonstrated skills in analytical and innovative problem-solving
  • Knowledge of enterprise agreements and legislation applicable to mental health
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic planning
