This role focuses on enhancing the First Peoples Workforce and Cultural Capability in the public sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the delivery of Barring Djinang, a key initiative in the Victorian public sector's First Peoples' Workforce Development Strategy
  • Provide cultural expertise to inform broader Commission strategies and policies
  • Contribute to advancing self-determination, truth-telling, Treaty processes, and improved outcomes for First Nations communities within the public sector

In this position, you will work closely with First Nations stakeholders, public sector departments, agencies, and entities to drive culturally informed employment initiatives and promote inclusive, respectful workplace practices.

You will prepare high-level briefings, support collaborative project delivery, and ensure cultural insight informs policy and practice across the sector.

Strong project management and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of the issues affecting First Nations communities, particularly in the employment and career development space, are essential for this role.
