Counsellor-Facilitator Role

  • This role involves supporting individuals, children, and families experiencing complex emotional challenges, separation, or seeking help with life difficulties.
  • You will be part of a supportive culture that prioritises serving and empowering the community.

Job Summary:

In this maximum term (until December 2025) part-time role, you will provide various counselling services, including group work and case management, to offer holistic support to clients facing complex emotional challenges.

These positions are based between Nowra and Wollongong.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality counselling services, case management, and advocacy to ensure optimal client outcomes.
  • Develop case plans with clients, focusing on achievable goals and objectives.
  • Maintain a full client caseload and ensure accurate documentation meets organisational, legislative, and funding requirements.

About You:

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or Counselling is essential.
  • Graduate membership of a PACFA registered organisation or AASW, APS, ACA, or similar is required.
  • You should have experience in conducting comprehensive client assessments and developing goals in consultation with the client.
  • Training and clinical experience in working with diverse age groups and challenging emotional challenges are necessary.
  • Previous demonstrated experience in assessment and counselling is essential.
  • You must possess well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, with effective time management and organisational skills.
  • A current NSW Driver's Licence and valid paid Working with Children Check (WWC) are mandatory.

Salary and Benefits:

  • The salary for this role is estimated to be around $85,000 - $95,000 per annum, depending on your qualifications and experience.
