Fleet Operations Manager

The Fleet Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in streamlining commercial fleet operations, ensuring seamless coordination and control. This position oversees the execution of customer bookings, optimizes routing, manages driver systems, and maintains compliance with regulatory authorities, company policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and disseminate scheduled services requirements to drivers
  • Reroute and liaise with drivers regarding any changes to scheduled routes
  • Facilitate route performance discussions with drivers to ensure optimal route efficiency, incorporating driver input for enhanced route optimization
  • Verify completed run sheets to confirm customer details, volumes, and service types
  • Monitor driver management systems, including MT Data, DriveCam, and Scale Watcher
  • Promote adherence to regulator-mandated documentation, such as EPA waste trackers, EPA vehicle permits, and Biosecurity Log Forms
  • Maintain strict compliance with company policies, procedures, and statements
  • Contribute to team achievements in key performance indicators (KPIs), encompassing safety, productivity, and cost management
  • Ensure Route Audits are conducted according to guidelines provided by the Operations Manager
  • Manage route sequencing in alignment with driver's route controls documentation or program
  • Report any non-conformance or concerns related to Environment, Quality, and Safety to the Operations Manager

To excel in this role, you will require:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A deep understanding of the waste industry or transport and logistics sector
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • A strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and requirements within the waste and transport industry (highly advantageous)
