About the Role:
Ventia is currently seeking an experienced Senior SHEQ Professional to lead all aspects of Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) and Quality on a major project. This critical role involves implementing and managing effective safety protocols, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and regulations, and fostering a positive work culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Management: Develop and execute strategies to ensure compliance, minimize risk, and drive continuous improvement in safety management.
- Team Leadership: Lead the Safety and Environment Team to provide effective and efficient safety and environmental management services.
- Incident Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations into safety-related incidents and provide recommendations to Operations to prevent future occurrences.
- Culture Development: Maintain a 'Safe Working Culture' through ongoing engagement and education of leaders and the workforce, promoting a proactive can-do attitude and positive team culture.
- Record Management: Ensure effective record management of SHE activities, including maintaining accurate documentation and escalating issues as per Ventia's framework.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Workplace/Occupation Health and Safety, Environmental or Quality equivalent.
- Formal training in incident investigation and management systems.
- Management Systems and Lead Auditor qualifications.
- Suitable experience as a safety professional in industrial safety, possessing the required technical skills and knowledge to perform the role.
