Disability Support Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Disability Support Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality support to individuals with disabilities, promoting their independence and dignity.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Meeting the unique needs of each client in a respectful and compassionate manner;
  • Mentoring clients to develop essential life skills and confidence;
  • Providing assistance with daily living activities, such as personal care and household management;
  • Assisting clients in managing medication and adhering to individualized support plans;
  • Documenting client interactions and progress through clear and concise reporting;
  • Managing complex behaviors and responding to crisis situations effectively;

As a Disability Support Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our team to promote community inclusion and participation for individuals with disabilities. This may involve engaging clients in recreational activities, supporting access to cultural events, and facilitating connections with local services and organizations.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A current First Aid Certificate and NDIS Worker Orientation Module;
  • Previous experience working with people with diverse needs and backgrounds;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues;
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in using digital tools for documentation and communication;
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, days, evenings, nights, and weekends;
