Business Intelligence Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team and support our Council's direction by delivering modernised reports to facilitate the monitoring of key activities, services, strategies and plans relevant to Council and the community.

About the Role:

  • Facilitate discovery workshops with business units to elicit, gather, and prioritise functional and non-functional business requirements in specifications documentation.
  • Undertake current process documentation and analysis to determine business requirements and process improvements that deliver benefits for the business and aligns to strategic goals.
  • Develop future state process documentation and analysis to articulate proposed solutions that address business requirements and deliver benefits for the business and aligns to strategic goals.
  • Partner with stakeholders to undertake projects and corporate initiatives to ensure requirements and standards are met.
  • Undertake procurement activities and solution option assessments to identify appropriate solutions addressing business requirements and business needs.
  • Work closely with digital technology project managers and the business to ensure all critical systems functionality is tested and a quality system is delivered and accepted by key stakeholders.
  • Partner with business units across the organisation as a trusted Business Technology Partner (BTP).
  • Liaise with internal customers and stakeholders to review and monitor effectiveness of tools, systems, methods and standards to ensure consistency and quality of service delivery.
  • Support the Enterprise Architect and strategy function in the management of the Digital Innovation Strategy and the IT Portfolio of programs.

Essential Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience and strengths in business analysis, requirements gathering and technical skills to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage technology solution/business improvement projects and work in a multi-skilled, multi-tasking environment to meet agreed organisational priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to success in providing effective solutions to business problems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to think strategically, critically, logically and creatively.
  • Proven ability to show initiative with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative and multifaceted team.
  • Excellent relationship management skills, a demonstrated ability to proactively and effectively provide high quality customer service and stakeholder engagement.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Relevant Industry Certification (e.g. IIBA CCBA, PRINCE2) would be highly regarded.
  • Experience in toolsets including word processors, spreadsheets, drawing/diagramming tools (e.g. Visio), presentation tools (e.g. PowerPoint) and project management tools (e.g. MS Project).
  • Experience in establishing and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with ERP systems in a council/government environment.
  • Previous experience in Local government or a similar environment.
