The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Sciences (ABARES) Digital Transformation Program is seeking an ICT Business Analyst for the Commodities and Trade System project.
The Commodities and Trade System (CaTS) project is a critical initiative to modernise and replace the legacy Commodities database (CDB) that supports ABARES' delivery of independent data, research, and analysis for Australian agriculture, fisheries, and forestry. The project aims to build a sustainable, secure ICT system aligned with departmental technology roadmaps.
We are looking for a self-motivated ICT Business Analyst to join the team of ICT professionals, who work closely with a range of stakeholders in the coordination and analysis of large amounts of data critical to the project's success.
Key duties and responsibilities
About the role:
The ICT Business Analyst role requires you to analyse and interrogate data and communicate with business partners to ensure an accurate representation of the business requirements. You will be responsible for the following duties but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
Engage with business to produce high quality, concise, requirements documentation as a product backlog of features with acceptance criteria
Undertake data analysis using basic SQL and intermediate MS Excel to analyse and validate data
Develop and execute test plans
Develop other high quality business analysis documentation as required
The applicant must have:
At least five years of business and data analysis experience in a similar role
A high level of stakeholder engagement skills
Provide a high level of attention to detail in documentation and analysis.
An ability to work independently in a complex business and technical environment is essential
Analytical, problem-solving skills
Experience working with an agile development team
Criteria
