Structural Asset Specialist Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced structural asset specialist to join our team in Western Australia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the ongoing integrity, safety, and compliance of all structural assets across the mining operation. This includes conducting structural inspections, defect management, engineering assessments, design review, and lifecycle planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct structural inspections and assessments of critical assets
  • Maintain and update structural defect registers and risk-based inspection schedules
  • Develop and manage the Structural Integrity Management Plan (SIMP) and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Provide technical review and validation of structural designs, scopes, and calculations for projects and maintenance activities
  • Liaise with third-party contractors and oversee structural remediation or fabrication works
  • Prepare technical reports, inspection findings, and recommendations for defect rectification or risk mitigation
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Projects, and Reliability teams to align structural priorities with operational needs
  • Assist in lifecycle planning and asset management strategies for structural components

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering (with structural focus)
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or working towards chartership
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Western Australia (RPEng/NER preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, analysis, and design
  • Proficiency in structural modelling and engineering software
  • Ability to interpret and apply relevant Australian Standards
