Job Title:
Bushfire Mitigation Professional - Northern RegionWe seek a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead bushfire mitigation efforts in the Northern Region.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating district-wide mitigation strategies, education programs for brigades, and managing the Fire Warden network.
In this role, you will contribute to planning, implementation, and evaluation of district-wide and department-wide programs and initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the development and execution of bushfire mitigation strategies and activities across the district
- Managing and mentoring officers to develop their skills and knowledge in bushfire mitigation
- Undertaking the duties of the Chief Fire Warden role in the absence of the Area Chief Fire Warden
- Managing the Fire Warden network across the District
- Implementing and operationalising the Permit to Light Fire system in the District
The ideal candidate will have a proven commitment to maintaining bushfire competencies and operating in a regional team environment. Excellent communication skills are essential to effectively communicate with stakeholders from rural and remote communities.
This is a day work position, yet may require flexible hours of work to meet functional demands, including working at night on weekends as part of the role.
