Job Description

A Career That Makes A Difference

We are seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.

About The Role

  • Assist NDIS participants and their families/carers to identify needs through assessment and person-centred planning
  • Evaluate, develop and deliver evidence-based support plans within complex support spaces
  • Develop meaningful goals and practical strategies using a positive behaviour support framework, with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices
  • Ensure individual plans reflect the goals, passions and strengths of NDIS participants
  • Build the knowledge, capacity and strengths of those who support participants in their lives – family, carers, friends, etc.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including mentoring less experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners
  • Act as an advocate and role model for best practice

Key Qualifications

To be considered suitable, you will have:

  • Current suitability confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission at the Advanced or Specialist level as a Behaviour Support Practitioner
  • Completed a degree-level qualification as an allied health professional
  • Report writing experience
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload
  • Proactive attitude, motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas
  • Genuine passion for working in the disability sector
