Job Summary

The Head of Legal is a senior leadership position that provides strategic legal counsel to support sustainable organisational growth while balancing assertiveness and risk mitigation for optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with key stakeholders to advise on commercial matters.
  • Lead the legal team, developing best practices and process improvements.
  • Address complex legal, regulatory and reputational matters.
  • Liaise with external parties, including regulators and insurers.
  • Provide expert advice on significant contractual matters.
  • Manage Company Secretary matters across the region.

About You:

We seek an experienced Commercial Lawyer with a significant post-admission track record, gained in both private practice and in-house. Property knowledge and/or experience in regulatory matters are highly regarded.

Candidates must possess exceptional executive presence, superior communication skills and be able to navigate complex global challenges. A practical-minded, commercially astute legal professional who is proactive, responsive and service-driven is required. A leader with a transparent, inclusive style who champions diversity is also essential.

Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in law or a related field.
  • Significant experience in commercial law, preferably in Australia.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • A high level of integrity, professionalism and discretion.
