The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing clinical and liability claims across our hospital network, working closely with legal and hospital teams to drive better outcomes and reduce costs.
- Manage clinical and liability claims in collaboration with external legal teams and hospital executives.
- Provide medico-legal advice and support to hospital staff, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate claims registers and generate reports for executive and audit purposes, identifying trends and contributing to risk management training.
- Assist in implementing software solutions for tracking legal spend, improving efficiency and reducing costs.
The successful candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in claims management, preferably within a healthcare or insurance setting.
- Tertiary qualification in law, health, or business, with a strong understanding of litigation and civil procedure.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise advice to hospital staff.
- An analytical mindset, with proficiency in MS Office and Excel, and experience with claims and incident management systems (e.g. Riskman).
- Eligibility to hold a legal practicing certificate, with knowledge of health law and personal injury claims.
