Job Description:

We are seeking a part-time Overnight Guest Services team member to join our team at YHA Cairns Central. The successful candidate will be required to live on-site and take on-call responsibilities overnight.

The role involves providing excellent customer service to property guests, checking in late arrivals, and ensuring property rules are adhered to. You will also be responsible for handing over relevant information during shift changeovers and overseeing the security of the building.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning of communal facilities and public areas when required
  • Conducting periodic deep cleans of property rooms, ensuites, and communal facilities
  • Controlling laundry sent and received (for properties where a linen hire company is used)
  • Removing and sorting of recycling and rubbish from rooms, corridors, bathrooms and communal areas
  • Laundry, folding and restocking of linen

What We're Looking For:

  • Availability to work overnight, including being on-call to attend to guest queries
  • Problem solving skills, including the ability to work independently to solve problems in line with YHA policies and procedures
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • A valid First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Attention to detail
  • Commitment to safety and security
  • Ability to commit to minimum of 3-hour shifts prior to overnight engagement

Salary: $25-$30 per hour, depending on experience
