The Opportunity
Monash University is seeking a self-motivated individual to conduct research on the intersection of women rights and popular culture in post-1998 Indonesia. The research should build upon existing works in gender, policy, and governance, social movements, culture, and media studies, and aim to develop insights that can inform future policy making efforts in addressing systemic inequalities.

Candidate Requirements
The successful applicant must be an Indonesian citizen and have an excellent academic track record in governance and policy studies, gender studies, and media studies. Competence in qualitative research methods is essential, and quantitative skills are desirable.
Applicants will be considered for PhD admission at Monash University, which includes English language proficiency. Scholarship holders must be enrolled full time and on campus in Jakarta, with a preference for commencement by January 2025.

- A cover letter with a brief statement of the applicant's suitability and interest in the PhD topic
- A brief research proposal not exceeding 750 words in length, demonstrating an understanding of the area of research and appropriate research methods
- A curriculum vitae, including a list of published works, conference presentations, and relevant work/research experience
- A full statement of academic record, supported by scanned copies of relevant certified documentation
- Contact details of two academic referees
- A copy of the current passport or National Identity Card
