Key Roles of an Anaesthetic Technician

The Anaesthetic Technician is a key member of the operating theatre team, responsible for supporting anaesthetists during complex surgical procedures. This role requires strong technical skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will provide support to anaesthetists during complex and high-acuity surgeries, including cardiac, paediatric, and neuro operations. They will be responsible for preparing and maintaining anaesthetic equipment and supplies, monitoring patient vital signs, and responding to emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer anaesthesia under the supervision of an anaesthetist.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and respond to emergencies.
  • Prepare and maintain anaesthetic equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.

Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Anaesthetic Technician Qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 (two) years of experience as an anaesthetic assistant in an operating theatre environment.
  • Australian Working Rights.
  • Flexibility to work shifts between 5pm - 11pm permanently.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment with multiple complex cases.
